Who we are

We don't build for communities. We build with them.

Jharkhand Rastriya Sarva Dharma Welfare Association was founded in 2007 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand — Steel City — to serve the poor, uplift women, educate children, and stand with communities regardless of background. Eighteen years on, we continue that work across five states.

We work at the intersection of livelihoods, health, education and civic empowerment — because urban and rural poverty isn't a single problem, and there are no single-issue solutions.

Beyond our home state of Jharkhand, we are now formally authorised by the Government of Registrations, Ranchi to extend our development work and welfare activities across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh — a mandate that lets us carry the same community-led approach to the people who need it most in four additional states.

Our mission

Three streams of work, one shared purpose.

Our mission has matured over eighteen years across three overlapping streams. Each operates independently — together they make a community whole.

Mission 01

Community upliftment, irrespective of caste, creed or colour.

  • 01Work for the upliftment of the community irrespective of caste, creed and colour.
  • 02Plantation of medicinal plants — Jatropha (Ratnajot) to produce bio-diesel, Ayurveda and Homeopathic medicine — to uplift rural men and women by generating employment and treating AIDS, Cancer, Drug-addiction, Malaria, Kala-azar, Silicosis and other killer diseases.
  • 03Provide legal support to citizens and run a Nation-wide Literacy Programme, especially for weaker sections of men and women.
  • 04Help construct houses for low-income groups under State and Central Government Yojnas.
  • 05Promote science, culture, art, literature and charitable activity through a not-for-profit registered society.

From a farmer's field to a life of service.

Leadership should serve the people.

Jayaram Das was born into a humble farmer's family, where he learned the values of hard work, honesty, and compassion from an early age. Despite rising to prominence, he has remained deeply grounded and connected to ordinary people, earning respect as a truly down-to-earth leader.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jayaram Das became a pillar of support for countless families. He organized relief efforts, distributed food and essentials, provided financial assistance, and stood beside those struggling during one of the most difficult times in recent history. His humanitarian work brought hope to many who felt helpless and forgotten.

Driven by a strong commitment to social welfare, he has launched numerous schemes to support the needy, especially people facing financial hardship. He is also a dedicated legal advisor and a renowned advocate. Through his charitable initiatives, he has funded schools, supported educational programs, and contributed to causes focused on healthcare and community development.

Jayaram Das also founded his own NGO and SHG, dedicated to helping underprivileged communities through welfare programs, relief activities, and social support initiatives. Believing that leadership should serve the people, he established his own political party with a mission to uplift society, support citizens in their daily struggles, and create opportunities for those in need.

His journey from a farmer's background to becoming a respected humanitarian and public leader reflects a life built on service, humility, and dedication to humanity. Today, Jayaram Das continues to inspire people through his vision of compassion, equality, and meaningful change.

Story #047

"We didn't need rescue. We needed someone to listen — and stay."

In Lallubhai Compound, eleven women started a savings circle in 2019. UrbanRise didn't fund it — they joined it. Six years later, that circle owns three tailoring units, a library, and runs the ward's only paid childcare cooperative.

This is what dignity looks like — quiet, daily, ours.
